Pumpkin Dog Treats

Ingredients

    blank

    • 3/4 C pumpkin purée (NOT pie filling)

    • 1/2 C nut butter, almond, or peanut (plain nuts, be sure no sugar, xylitol, or oils are added)

    • 1/4 C rolled oats

    • 1 egg

    • 2 C brown rice flour or ancient grain flour Einkorn

    • 1/2 C additional nut butter for drizzle

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350°

    2. Dump the pumpkin purée, 1/2 C of peanut butter, oats, egg, and flour into a mixing bowl.

    3. Beat the mixture together until becomes a dough and is able to form into a ball. Take half the dough and form a ball.

    4. Place the ball of dough between two layers of parchment paper. Flatten the ball with the palm of your hand and then use a rolling pin to make it 3/4 inch thick.

    5. Once flattened, use your choice of cookie cutter to cut out shapes of dough. If you don’t have a cookie cutter, you can use a glass for round shapes.

    6. Move treats to parchment-lined cookie sheets. Form another ball with the remaining dough and continue rolling and cutting until all dough is used.

    7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. For a crispier treat, flip treats over and bake another 6 minutes, or until crispy.
