Rich, fudgy, and irresistibly smooth, this homemade Chocolate Chess Pie is a Southern classic made with cocoa, sugar, and a buttery graham cracker crust. Perfect for holidays or any chocolate lover’s dessert table!
2 C sugar
4 T cacao powder
2 pinches salt
7 ounces coconut milk (the fat is needed, do not use almond or oat milk)
1/2 C (1 stick) butter, melted
3 eggs beaten
3 tsp vanilla
3 C Crushed Graham crackers
1/2 C coconut sugar
1/3 C butter, melted (Miyokos dairy-free option)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Whisk together the sugar, cacao, and salt in a medium bowl.
Add the milk, butter, eggs, and vanilla. Stir together until everything is thoroughly combined.
Pour the filling into your pie shell and cook for 45 minutes. (Crust guard may be needed to not burn crust). When the pie is set it will still be a little jiggly in the center.
Let cool on a wire rack.
Serve with homemade whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Mix all together and press the mixture lightly on the bottom of a greased pan.
